This purpose built building for North Edinburgh Dementia Care was part of the overall Fleming Place project on the site of the former Eastern General Hospital site in Edinburgh. The project provides a new modern facility to replace an existing aged and unsuitable unit adjacent to the site. It is a day care centre with multifunctional activity spaces, incorporating sliding and stacking partition systems that allow the client to alter the size of the spaces to suit particular activites, providing either smaller, more domestic sized spaces or larger areas for group activities. The main space of the centre opens out to a secure walled garden area at the rear, with a covered pergola terrace and raised planting beds.
