Southhouse Masterplan

This £7.25m project has transformed an existing housing area of Edinburgh with new landscaping, infrastructure, new housing for rent and comprehensive redesign and refurbishment of existing ex Council owned housing stock.

The project was based on the Patience and Highmore Neighbourhood Masterplan for Southhouse and involved the refurbishment of 176 flats in 8 blocks along with the construction of 37 new houses for rent and environmental improvements throughout the site, including Southhouse Square which remains in the ownership of City of Edinburgh Council.

The masterplan also identified surrounding sites suitable for housing for sale, resulting in around 140 new houses being built in the area.
