This project has transformed two previously neglected areas of Edinburgh, with new masterplans providing new landscaping, infrastructure, new housing for rent and a comprehensive redesign and refurbishment of existing ex Council owned housing stock.
Following on from the success of a similar strategy at nearby Southhouse, the now completed project, is based on Patience and Highmore masterplans for both Moredun Park and Hyvots areas and resulted in our own direct involvement in the refurbishment of 377 flats and houses. A key aspect of both masterplans is the integration of safe pedestrian routes through the sites, and adopting the “Safe Routes to School” initiative on the Hyvots site, in particular, due to the close proximity of Gilmerton Primary School.
The overall project has just been awarded “Best Partnership in Affordable Housing Delivery” at the 2013 Homes for Scotland Awards.
