Back in the 1990s, the RIAS entered an international mini football tournament between architects from England, Scotland, Spain and Morocco. The call from the RIAS came out and Keith Cameron [centre] from P+H managed to grab one of the jerseys [the blue and black striped jerseys borrowed from the English team]. Scotland didn’t have their own kit but Spain and Morocco had their own band on the touchline with trumpets and drums!

A 3-2 win over Spain was followed by a 1-0 defeat to Morocco. Fortunately Scotland didn’t have to play England who had run up pretty high scores against the other two nations…

Patience and Highmore Architects will be attending the RIAS Awards Dinner this week. Our Thomas Telford Church Conversion project on Berneray is one of 25 projects in Scotland that have been shortlisted for an award.
